2013 ACHA RED
350 case production
The Tempranillo grape's traditional home is in the Rioja region of Spain having been planted by the Phoenicians well over 2,000 years ago. It has earned its rightful position as "Awesome" in the Pantheon of Red Varietals. Exaggeration - not in the slightest - just taste our 2013 and weep!
The almost black color hints at the concentration and depth your nose and palate are yet to experience. Fire-roasted blueberries, smoky blackberries and caramelized orange peel on the nose give way to an earthiness reminiscent of sun-baked rocks. The mouth is huge, full of sweet, ripe cherries counterbalanced by supple tannins that have grip galore if you go looking for them. Translation: this sexy beast's youthful fruit is gorgeous now but can easily gain in elegance and finesse with long-term cellaring. Built to age another 10-15 years.
