2017 COOMBSVILLE
Winemaker's Tasting Notes
The 2017 Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon is an impenetrable blackish-purple and offers a kaleidoscope of aromatics. Expressions of ripe black raspberries, strawberry jam, black currants, marionberry liqueur, roasted almonds and graphite explode from the glass. Freshly milled suede, black cardamom, beeswax and rock dust add elegance and complexity. Each sip is a generous dose of black and purple fruits with a savory underpinning so characteristic of this appellation. The wine is seamless with a balanced play of tannins, acid and sexy oak which echoes through a lasting and unforgettable finish. Amazing now and will age effortlessly over the next two decades.

"The 2017 (Coombsville) Cabernet Sauvignon Brown Label is a blend of fruit from Bennett, Caldwell and Carpegnanom all in Coombsville. The savory notes that are so typical of Coombsville give the wine striking aromatic coplexity to play off the dark red and purplish fruit. Plush, silky and generous with impeccable balance, the 2017 is a superb Cabernet from Mark Herold. I loved it. "
