Vintage Notes
This nearly perfect growing season started off with a wet winter and a long warm summer with very few heat events, resulting in foggy mornings and set the stage for producing vibrant, expressive wines. The finish of the season was long and relatively mild, which facilitated long hangtimes and produced wines with finesse and freshness.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes
An aromatically intense wine with brooding aromas of blackberry compote, black raspberries, currants in cream, brambly plums and pencil lead. More subtle aromas of tobacco, dark Asian spices, mocha, and roasted nuts add yet another dimension of complexity. The 2019 Uproar is opulent with mouth-coating savory black and blue fruits framed by good acidity and velvety melting tannins. Drink over the next 10-15 years.

"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Uproar is plush, racy and voluptuous from the very first taste. Inky dark cherry jam, spice, chocolate, licorice and leather all race out of the glass in a forward, open-knit Cabernet that will drink well right out of the gate. A dollop of Merlot softens the contours nicely. This flamboyant entry-level Cabernet from Mark Herold is terrific."
