The 2021 vintage was a winemaker’s dream—low yields, small, intensely flavored berries and best of all an uneventful growing season. 2021 started off with very little rain, perfect growing conditions and a harvest beginning very early with the resulting grapes packed full of flavor. The 2021 vintage will be considered as exceptional producing concentrated yet balanced wines of great longevity.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes
The 2021 Oakville Ranch represents one of the best vintages for Cabernet I’ve seen grace the Napa Valley in the last decade. Little rainfall resulted in small, beautifully concentrated berries that exemplified the qualities of this renowned vineyard and growing region. This Cabernet Sauvignon dazzles with wave after wave of blackberries, black raspberries, pomegranates and crushed rock. As the aromatics unfold, notes of fresh suede, grilled almonds and chaparral take the stage. Your palate is delighted by rich flavors of dark fruits, exotic spice and delicate minerality, bringing this wine into a complete symphony of power, elegance and balance from start to finish. Given this wine's youth, we encourage you to decant it if you are planning to enjoy it now. It will evolve beautifully in the cellar over the next 20 years.
